A Huntingdon-man has won a nationwide competition to have the locks on his house upgraded to make them secure against lock-snapping attack – one of the most popular forms of forced entry in the UK.
Tom Jackson from Desborough Road, Hartford is a Neighbourhood & Homes Watch Network (NHWN) member won a competition that was open to all members of the Home Office and Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) supported crime prevention network.

Vital Information Missing from BBC Watchdog Programme on the Subject of Lock Snapping
You may have seen the episode of Watchdog Test House that aired on BBC One on Thursday 13th Mar 2014 (it was Episode 4). It dealt with the issue of lock snapping. Unfortunately there was some vital information that didn’t make the final cut which we believe is vital for the public to know in order to protect themselves against this method some criminals are using for breaking in to homes.

A BRIGHOUSE company took its lock-snapping message to the Houses of Parliament with a presentation to guests and winners at the annual Neighbourhood and Home Watch Network Awards. If you install high security locks how sure are you that they would withstand the most common method of attack "Lock Snapping"? Are you aware that even if a lock has a anti-snap line it does not mean that it is guaranteed to break off at the line to stop entry, in the vast majority of cases it still snaps in the middle.
